A story is about a little girl named Jennie, taking place in 1960 and her obsessiveness with the old run down house next door. Every time she enters through the old trellis arch, she has dreams. The first two times she went to enter through the old trellis arch her dog Willie tried to stop her. These dreams take her back to the year of 1917 to a little girl named Sylvia who came to live with her grandfather. Even though Jennie was given strict orders to stay away from the old house, she seemed to be drawn to it and every Sunday after church she would enter the trellis arch and have another dream. This lasted for a little over a year until the old house was torn down and the dreams came to an end. After another year had gone by she was able to find out the meaning of her dreams and why she was having them.
