Summer Putnam has had trust issues with men since childhood and relies on no one but herself. For reasons of his own, Firefighter Tony Clark steers clear of strong women. Sure, Summer and Tony are attracted to each other on a physical level, but they're all wrong for each other. Or so it seems.
Summer and Tony have no intention of getting involved in any way. Then bad luck knocks them both down and pushes them together. As they figure out how to deal with their problems and move forward, their perceptions of each other change.
Summer's growing feelings for Tony threaten to unravel her carefully developed plans for the future. Tony's need to be with Summer overpowers his wariness of getting seriously involved with her.
