It's not like he set out to be a "player". Grady just enjoys women and has no problem attracting them. When he rolls into town every six months or so, he doesn't go looking for women. They find him.
When he rides out of town a few weeks later, there's usually a broken heart or two in his wake. Not because he sets out to break hearts. He just isn't going to be tied down. Not by any woman.
