Something evil lurks up Bergamot Holler, and it's targeted Patty Hall.
Patty is fifteen years old, when she makes contact with the Will O' the Wisp. She loves space, science fiction, and old movies. She jumps to the conclusion that she's met an alien, but is woefully wrong. The Wisp is ancient and has targeted her branch of the Hall family for hundreds of years.
Patty has all the problems of growing up without having to fear for her life. School obligations, the chores of a rural farm girl, and her corrective leg braces aren't enough. She also has to watch her friends start dating while remaining on the sidelines.
This story is set in the 1970s and has been called a combination of The Wonder Years meets The Exorcist. It features a strong coming of age story along with the mystery of the Wisp. Several reviewers indicate the depiction of the 70s enhanced the story for them.
While this story includes a few intense moments it is suitable for young adults.
