Having spent many years working in a rural hospital setting,
I wanted to capture the gritty, unpredictable and traumatic experiences that
profoundly affected me while working in the emergency room. I would not have survived those intense
situations without the wonderful group of women I worked with—my circle of
friends. This is their story:
Panic, hysteria and fear grips the
rural town of Sierra
as a deadly virus threatens to destroy it.
Everyone knows about it, as it
hits the national news scene. This once
small, quaint and quiet town is transformed into chaos. Will anyone survive? Nothing can stop this destructive virus, as hundreds of
people rush to the hospital’s crowded ER, which only becomes more complicated
when a father, anxious to save his baby, goes on a shooting rampage.
Ordinary women bonded by
extraordinary circumstances work together in this small town’s hospital
ER. Lucinda bonds with her coworkers as
they deal with overwhelming conditions, while battling their own personal demons. She
faces her own challenges-- recently single with a new job, raising a teenage
daughter and the return of her ex-husband.
The Estrogen
Chronicles, Circle of Friends, a
novel of friendship, love, courage, and compassion gives an inside view of the
inner workings of hospital operations under desperate times.
