" ... a matter of light and death ...."
CSI meets The Exorcist
Milton’s Paradise Lost reminds
us that Lucifer was the angel of light, using light for Godly purposes.
Once banished to hell, it would follow that Lucifer would use his mastery of light to further his
malevolent goals.
Three hundred and fifty years ago in colonial
America, an ancient Light is released during a mysterious satanic ritual.
“Lucifer’s Light” unleashes unspeakable horror upon a seaside village and many
of its inhabitants, once touched by the Light, die brutally by their own hand.
A heroic priest recaptures the Light and arranges to have it buried with him to
protect the world from Satan’s destruction.
It’s now present day in the sleepy college town of
Cumberton, MD. The old cemetery must be moved to make room for a new dormitory,
the priest’s grave is disturbed and the ungodly Light escapes. The evil Light
infiltrates everyday light sources—a cell phone, a microwave, the reflection of
the moon—and projects to those targeted an image from their past where they
felt a high degree of guilt. The evil Light magnifies that guilt a thousand
times, compelling its victims to take their own lives. As a result, a rash of
gruesome student suicides rocks the town.
Sheriff
Estin Booker teams up with former Baltimore homicide detective Anna Tucci to
investigate the deaths. What neither expects is to have all roads point to a
2000-year-old legend which, if true, could lead to the destruction of mankind.
With the clock ticking, and an impossible burden placed upon their shoulders,
they must defeat their own long-hidden demons or Satan himself will claim the
ultimate victory.
DEAD
LIGHT teaches the most improbable lesson you will ever learn:
“Whatever you do, don’t turn on the lights!”
