The Crash of Hard Water - An American woman's experience in post WWII Tokyo, based on a true story.
My grandmother died when I was three, so I unfortunately never really knew her. After she passed away, my dad saved all her old photos and possessions from her travels as a young woman. It wasn't until I was older that I learned that my grandmother worked in post WWII Tokyo in General MacArthur's Headquarters. Fascinated by this story, I pieced together her timeline using her own photos, newspaper clippings, and 8MM film reels from her experiences there. The Crash of Hard Water is the fictionalized account of my grandmother's life during this time.
