"Shattered Blue," a roller-coaster ride of romantic suspense, was great fun to write. I think Shane MacKinnon and Matt Brennan make the perfect couple, and their relationship, which gets off to the usual rocky start, quickly develops into a fast-paced, sometimes funny, always sensual one that leads them into each other's arms and hearts.
My villain, Jordan Ripley, is truly evil. He tormented Shane's childhood and now he's back to finish what he calls their "game" and find the millions in stolen cash he's sure she's hiding.
The race is on to see if Shane can save herself from her evil stepbrother, with lots of manly help from Matt, of course!
My First Reader Team raved about "Shattered Blue." Here are some of their comments:
"I gulped down your book in ONE sitting … couldn't look away … loved it!"
"I never read books this fast, can't put it down! … I think you should start writing the screenplay because someone is going to want to make a movie! … I even want to read it again and that never happens." (Note: She did read it again after a few tweaks, and loved it even more!)
"Just finished the book. Yum! … The plot is tight and well constructed … a good, entertaining, well-written read that carries you along … I enjoyed it immensely."
And a blogger at TheBookSheRead gave "Shattered Blue" a wonderful review. Here's a relevant tidbit from her long review:
"Self-published books can be a tricky business. Some are complete misses in desperate need of rigorous editing; some are a decent effort but miss being truly readable; and some are, despite not having the benefit of an editor from a publishing house, hits. Shattered Blue is a hit. The writing is descriptive and varied ... the characters are funny and vulnerable and real, and the action is high. Although it is her first foray into fiction, Jane Taylor Starwood ... knows what she's doing."
I hope I've tantalized you into reading "Shattered Blue." I wrote it just for you! And if you love it, please consider leaving a review on Amazon. I'd really appreciate it. In the meantime, I'm typing my fingers to the bone on the next one!
Happy Reading!
