A Delightful Escape

With warmth and gentle humour, Sue Gibson follows up on the lives and loves of the characters brought to life in "A Suite Deal" with her second book, "A Suite Life". For a romance novel of friendship, love, and picturesque settings, go no further! Once again, Sue does not disappoint. Let's hope we will see more engaging stories from her.

A Great Escape

I'm always on the lookout for romances set in unfamiliar places--unfamiliar to me, anyway--and this one was a sweet surprise.

The book really is sweet. The characters are likable and smart, their romance is slow and simmering (without anything graphic if that's your preference), and the setting, in a gorgeous lakeside hotel in rural Canada, is fantastic. The cover of this book really doesn't do it justice. Imagine a cover more like those for Robyn Carr's Virgin River series--pastoral, rugged, romantic.

The heroine is a young painter struggling to get her mojo back, which I can relate to. I liked how Trey, the workaholic hotel-exec hero, was so supportive--not some kind of alpha jerk, but a truly decent guy you want to find happiness. And they were perfect together.

Now I want to visit rural Ontario. I hope she writes more in the series; I might have to settle for that.
